More Than a Carpenter | Review2 min read

More Than a Carpenter is an excellent Christian apologetic primer for the layperson. The McDowells make a concise, well-supported argument for Christianity being true. In this short book, they dispel scientific arguments and investigate the historical reliability of Jesus, his claims, his resurrection, the transformation of his followers, and the validity of the scripture that attests to it all.

Overall Impression

Josh and Sean McDowell do an excellent job in this book of teaching the most high-yield topics of apologetics regarding Jesus, scripture, and science. Their writing is easy to read (or listen to), easy to understand, and easy to communicate with others. This book is a must-read for any follower of Jesus who wishes to be able to make a defense for the hope that he or she has (1 Pet 3:15).
